Captured by Swedish folk music in the 70-ties I started to play the violin. During my years as a school teacher I made a few violins. One of my violins reached the final in a Swedish competition in 1994. This made me change my profession. After working with master maker Jan Larsson, Lima, I received a journeyman´s certificate in 1997. In 1997 I started my firm “Gill Violiner” in Hudiksvall where I repair, restore and make stringed instruments. A few years ago I opened an additional workshop in Gävle. I was awarded a diploma for violin at the competition in Cremona in 1997 and in Mittenwald in 1997 and 2001.
